Zero Mass Water is a unique solar panel company funded by Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos. These are the only solar panels that do not generate energy, but instead they create water from thin air. With two solar panels, It can generate about 2-5 liters of water a day which is equivalent to 10 water bottles. It's an efficient way to produce water and it's also free. The water produced by the solar panels are automatically filtered and can be used right out of the resistor.
How these panels work is quite interesting. The middle strip is a normal solar panel that powers it, the two sides have a layer of material that generates heat and another layer that absorbs the water vapours from the atmosphere. Then, the sun condensates the water vapours(H₂O) in the panel which creates water then ending up in the reservoir. The reservoir is located under the solar panel and is can hold up to 30 liters of water.

These panels can be a solution for any water crisis since the only thing it needs is the sun. About 2.1 billion people are living without clean water and with this technology, it can help these people have easy access to clean water which is a great thing to do. Solar Panel Cons
When the weather is cloudy and rainy, or the atmospheric humidity is low, it will effect the solar panel's performance and will produce water at a slower rate. Also, a set of panels (2 solar panels) costs about $5500 to $6500 (tax,installation, and shipping included).which is pretty expensive for solar panels that only generate water. In addition, These solar panels can last for about 10 years while traditional solar panels can last for 25 years.
Would I Invest in it?
If this company had a stock, I would invest in it because it's such a clean way to make water and also this company is helping organizations fight with the water crisis. We all know how important clean water is and this company is making it easier for people in third world countries to have access to clean water. But, I personally would not own a set because the climate conditions where I live will not be in it's top performance. Additionally, this product is mainly for world changing purposes like the water crisis and not really for personal use. People can buy this product but it's mainly targeted towards wealthier people.
